Jaw Fractures
If you or someone you know has suffered from a jaw fracture and believe it was due to poor dental treatment, you should contact Brendan F. Mulligan, the dental injury attorney.
Jaw fractures during dental treatment can occur anywhere in the mouth, but are generally associated with the extraction of teeth in the lower jaw, usually the third molars.
Wisdom Teeth and Jaw Fractures
Third molars or “wisdom teeth” are commonly impacted. To remove them properly, a surgical approach should be taken. The surgery includes removal of gum and surrounding bone. Unfortunately, dentists and oral surgeons performing these procedures are in a rush to get the procedure done and move on to the next patient. As a result, excessive pressure and force is used during the extraction resulting in jaw fracture.
If you or someone you know has suffered a jaw fracture due to an extraction of a tooth, call Brendan F. Mulligan, D.M.D., Esquire, the dental malpractice attorney.
